Shortlist books

This term we been judging books by there layout and how many pictures they have and how much information was in there. We would then give them a score at of 30 and for example I gave Waves 21.

What makes a good information book is the following.

  1. The “plot” – without a plot it is difficult to keep a reader interested.
  2. “Characters” you need to give the characters the correct vocabulary and tone.
  3. “Style” is there good sentence structure and punctuation, also needed is an engaging style.
  4. A strong opening to the book. To engage the reader from the beginning

My favourite shortlists book is “Make Believe” because it is filled with fun optical illusions an also tells you about M.C Escher and what he did, his life.

What’s your favourite shortlisted book?
